ABOUT THE BOOK
Thomas Schumacher, world-renowned Broadway producer and Chief Creative Officer of Disney Theatrical Productions, gives readers unprecedented access to the business of theatre in How Does the Show Go On? Using the successful array of Tony Award®-winning Disney musicals as examples—including The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins and more—Tom takes readers from the front of the house to backstage, from the box office to the stage door, and behind the curtain to showcase what it takes to bring a show to life. Now in its third edition, How Does the Show Go On? includes never-before-seen photographs and personal stories from the making of Disney's hit Broadway musicals.
There is no other book that provides such a comprehensive and robust overview of the fundamentals of theatre created with young readers in mind but appropriate for "show people" of all ages.
